This really depends on your crowd, but even the most open-minded of my friends has, at one point or another, had something to say about eating meat in response to my vegetarianism. For the record, I have very little interest in this sort of thing. While I may adore you and find you to be a fascinating individual, when it comes to your diet, just don’t eat something that will affect me. And don’t kiss me after eating meat without brushing your teeth first. Sorry, but yuck! Otherwise, I’m good.
I decided to adopt a vegetarian diet after a mostly carnivorous one, and for me, that transition occurred in stages. While I did misuse the term in the past, I don’t currently believe those who eat chicken and fish are vegetarians- it’s a matter of precision. A chicken is not a vegetable. My current diet does not include meat of any kind, but does include quite a bit of cheese, as I sort out the intricacies of what my body can and cannot effectively process. I have been vegan in the past, and found it to be a satisfying diet. Having traveled many of the different paths towards that goal, I am humble enough to keep the dogma to the pros. For me, it’s all about the food.
As long as you love veggies, we’ll get along just fine. Welcome!
